How Sweet it is! Maple Sugaring event at Lusscroft Farm!

Sussex Naturally staff LOVE to eat! Lucky for all, we live in one of NJ's greatest counties for buying locally produced foods- Sussex County of course.

The March 12th Maple Sugaring Demo at Lusscroft Farm in Wantage- spurred a debate among the coleagues-what goes best with Sussex County's own MAPLE SYRUP-French Toast-Waffles -Pancakes? There's seems only one way to settle this argument-

We'll be grabbing up some Lusscroft Maple Syrup and heading to the kitchen for a friendly breakfast cook off.

Probability is... adding Sussex Co syrup to whatever you're cooking up will make it a winner!

MAPLE SUGARING EVENT March 12th 10-3pm Lusscroft Farm Wantage NJ

March 12th from 10 to 3pm, Lusscroft Farm will host a day long program showing how Maple trees are tapped, the sap extracted and the process of reducing the sap to the sweet-sticky syrup that has the folks at Sussex Naturally drooling in anticipation!

The demo is free and open to the public. Syrup will be available for purchase.

ABOUT LUSSCROFT FARM

Lusscroft Farm is one of Sussex County's treasures. State park land, horse trail rides and a rich agricultural history are just part of the attraction.

The farm was built by James Turner-a wealthy businessman who dedicated his efforts and resources into agricultural sciences. Lusscroft Farm research is credited for advancing the AI process in dairy cows-making it easier to answer YES to the "got milk?" question.

Rather unique architectural elements and beautiful artistry are featured in the manor house and Outlook Lodge. It is the dedicated passion of the Sussex County Heritage and Ag members to raise the significant revenue needed to restore (and stabilize) the buildings so they can be enjoyed by all for generations to come. The HAA hosts several events throughout the year and continues to invest their volunteer hours and manpower in holding back the effects of time and lack of maintenance on the buildings in the hopes of ultimately preserving and utilizing the buildings as envisioned.

Sussex Naturally supports that effort and invites you to join in the pleasure, pride and heritage that is Lusscroft Farm.
