Pet & People Day offers something for both

Those expressive eyes, those silly antics, that unconditional love...Our pets give us a daily dose of happiness and revive a weary spirit. But for many, challenging economic times have resulted in the inability to care for their beloved friend. This sad trend has impacted shelters around the country who are feeling the stress caused by the influx of pets given up for adoption. Shelters like BARKS and Father John's Animal House continue to provide shelter, food and care while working to find new loving homes for "Spike","Fluffy,"Rufface"and "Muffin".Their good work depends on the support and donations offered by more fortunate pet lovers.

The Pet Spa & Resort in Hardyston NJ has come up with an easy way for pet lovers to help AND take advantage of an early Valentine's treat that celebrates a special bond : PEOPLE & PET DAY- Saturday, January 30th,  noon to 4pm, SDC Photography will be on site at the Pet Spa, offering professional pet portrait sittings for your special pal. That day food, bedding and cash donations will be accepted by Pet Spa Staff on behalf of Father John's Animal House and BARKS.

SDC Photography has a reputation for excellence and for working with pets to capture those endearing qualities that have won your heart. Well established and noted photographer Susan Candelario & her crew have been recognized for their work with nature, wildlife and pet photography. Now, in cooperation with area pet supply shops and facilities like the Pet Spa, they bring their studio talents directly to you-in an environment that is comfortable for your pet. Sittings are by appointment. There is a $25.00 fee for portraits.

The Pet Spa & Resort is a well established daycare provider for pets in Sussex County. In addition to day and long term pet boarding, The Pet Spa & Resort works in close connection with two of the areas shelter facilities-by providing excellent care for the overflow of pets awaiting adoption.  On January 30, the Pet Spa & Resort will be accepting food and cash donations on behalf of BARKS and Father John's Animal House. 100% of all donations will be distributed.

Sussex Naturally applauds the efforts of Pet Spa personnel in putting this event together.
In going the "extra mile" they have created a fun event that helps those in need.

That spirit of community seems to come to Sussex residents...naturally.
